At Birkenshaw Kindergarten Club children are grouped according to their age; a key worker system operates within each room, offering children consistency and continuity of care. A good range of activities are planned to cover all areas of learning, the education for 3-5 years is exceptional with a low staff ratio. The free-costing government system is in operation at this nursery. Children enjoy a stimulating, safe environment in which good hygiene routines are in place.

We believe in good interaction with effective use of use of questioning to facilitate children's learning. We place emphasis on equal opportunities and produce opportunities for children to learn about other cultures and beliefs through activities, books and posters.

The nursery is open from Monday to Friday throughout the year, closing only for Bank Holidays, and during the Christmas and New Year festivals. Daily sessions start at 7.45 am and finish at 6.00 pm. Extended hours are available on request and After-school care is also available.

All staff hold recognized qualifications in childcare and early years education and are members of the National Day Nurseries Association. We are proud to boast a high staff to child ratio.
